Lee Savino & Lili Zander-Draekcon Holiday

Warning, this is not a standalone. It’s basically a slice of life, just a quick check in on everyone on the Prison Planet and how they are doing. If you haven’t read Draekon Rogue yet, go out and read it, and then come back and read Draekon Holiday.

Now that everything has shaken out with the Zorahn, the human women and their Draekon mates are trying to figure out what’s going on. With the beings in the hidden city being so technologically advanced, no one is trapped on the planet anymore. They have figured out ways to get in and out past the asteroid belt, so the women could go back to earth or they could all go out and explore. Or, they could stay on the Prison Planet and raise their families and be happy.

There are all kinds of choices, depending on which triad you are talking to. Each one has their reasons for making the choice that they do, and they all make sense for that particular group.

Before anything happens though, the ladies are going to get together for one last happy hour, and to celebrate Christmas. Well, a day that they have designated as Christmas. I laughed my ass off at the ladies trying to explain Santa Claus to their mates, and how overly protective their mates were. I’m pretty sure that Santa is going to want to avoid that planet as much as he possibly can. He might not make it off the planet to deliver to all the good girls and boys. I wonder if it’s going to be possible to come up with a Draekon friendly version of Santa for the hybrid kids.

This was a lovely little Christmas story, even if it wasn’t exactly Christmas. My one worry is that it seems like it could be the end of the series, but I really hope it isn’t. There are still stories that we haven’t heard from the Prison Planet yet, and there are going to be so many more now that they can get out and start exploring. I hope Lili and Lee aren’t done with the series, even if they aren’t all on the Prison Planet.

Speaking of Christmas, I will have a post on Christmas Eve. I’ll be reviewing a series from Claire Thompson. I won’t be posting anything for Christmas. I’m going to be spending that day reading, visiting my mom, and playing cards. And probably sleeping.

Measha Stone-Redemption

OK, yeah, I know I promised double for today, but I got involved in a gazillion things, and when I sat down to write this, I noticed it would be too late to write another one. So, today you get Measha, tomorrow you get Sansa, Friday you get Measha, and Saturday you get Sara.

But today, Redemption, Measha’s sweet, light, and laughter filled Christmas story. And if you believe that, I’ve got a bridge to sell you in the Atacama. LOL. It’s darkish, dirty, and full of Measha-y goodness. And it’s the perfect amuse bouche for her book on Friday, trust me.

Celeste is on the Naughty List, in a big way. And if she doesn’t get cleared off it, she’s going to end up stuck there permanently, and then there will be an empty voice in her life and she will never be happy. But Santa, being a good, kind, and loving Santa, has people who are there to help with that. He has special elves whose only job it is to get people off the naughty list and get them back on the Nice List. Adam is one such elf.

Adam’s job, should he choose to accept it, and he does, is to take Celeste, and help her. He needs to get her off the Naughty List and get her to understand what she did that caused her to be there. So he goes off to meet Celeste, at a bar, where she’s busy drinking because she’s pretty sure that she’s going to be fired the next day. He escorts her out of the bar, and the next thing she knows, she’s naked and in a stable. Seems like Adam may be a little bit kinky.

I love how Adam doesn’t let Celeste get away with anything, no matter what she tries. He’s doing it out of such a place of caring with her. He truly wants her to be happy and he’s willing to do whatever he has to to make sure that happens, even if that means he’s going to have to strap her ass raw. And that may just be one of his options. I had a harder time with Celeste. But, that’s because of personal things on my end, not her as a character. Some of her choices are things that people close to me have done and it was really hurtful to the people involved and took a lot of work to get things straightened out. So, looking at it as me, I had a hard time with her because of that. Once I could get away from her actions and into her as a person, it was easier for me to like her.

I was mad for a minute because I thought that Adam and Celeste were going to be separated. I didn’t want that to happen.

Allysa Hart & Rayanna Jamison-Santa Daddy

We all know that I will read the fuck out of a good Daddy book, and when it comes to Ally and Rayanna, I know that their books are going to be good. Ally’s stories tend to be on the lighter side of the street and relatively clean. Rayanna will go darker and dirtier. But when it comes to Christmas, they came together perfectly on Santa Daddy. And I will never look at candy canes the same way again.

Yule Claus has a rather famous father, and now that’s turned 39, it’s time for him to take over his father’s business. He is now going to be Santa Claus. There’s just one tiny little catch. He has to choose his Mrs. Claus from the non-believers before Christmas. Normally, that wouldn’t be too much of a problem, but Yule’s birthday is 2 weeks prior to Christmas, so he has 14 days to find the perfect woman off the non-believer list, convert her, and get her to marry him. Christmas magic means that this should be no problem, right? Well…

Luckily for Yule, there is only one woman in his age bracket on the non-believer list, and oh yeah, on the naughty list too. Her name is Crystal and she lives in Las Vegas. She thinks that Santa is made up by the toy companies and that Christmas is just a commercial holiday that has become way too much and only encourages over-consumption. (So, OK, she does have a little bit of a point there.) She’s never really celebrated Christmas and she says she’s never wanted to. So, when Yule pops into her house, literally, in full Santa regalia, she thinks he’s a crazy man who is assaulting her by spanking her.

Yule and Crystal take a journey to help her learn to enjoy the magic of Christmas and to find the joy of the holiday. Of course, that means that he’s about to become her Daddy, but hey, that works really well. I mean, what Daddy doesn’t want his little girl to love Christmas and have a good time. One of the nice things about this story is that while there is sex, it isn’t as down and dirty as it could otherwise be, and it never happens while Crystal is in Little space. I’ve seen it done both ways, and I have no preference either way, but it’s not often that you see it separated out, so it’s a very nice difference. And it’s a very definite choice to not do that, we see that decision being made. And I think that the choices about sex in this story work really well to the story’s benefit. I’m never going to turn down hot and steamy sex in a story, but this is not that book. Does any of that make sense? It does to me, at least, so hopefully I was able to translate it over to other people.

I like Yule. I think he has a sense of humor and he’s very kind and caring, which of course, you would expect Santa to be, but he’s so nurturing to and careful of Crystal, the perfect Daddy. I mostly like Crystal. There are a couple of times when I thought she was a little cynical and jaded, which made it a little hard for me to like her, but they aren’t big sections of the story.

I do believe that this will definitely join my Christmas book lineup every year.

OK, Vixen sounds like someone I’d love to get to know. And Marcus was too funny. I love his comment about how he’s still as gay as gay can be, but he’s planning on getting back on the naughty list next year, lol.

Crystal’s letters literally made me cry. And I loved that there were tear marks on the one. It gave me a happysad.

Anthology-Mischief Under the Mistletoe

As Christmas is coming (imagine Game of Thrones-esque tone), it’s time to read Christmas stories. And if they are Kinkmas stories, so much the better. Now, I don’t know about you, but I have a pretty strict no Christmas before Thanksgiving policy, and I prefer to wait until December altogether, but here we are, it’s December and it’s 18 days until Christmas, so it’s the perfect time to have some Mischief Under the Mistletoe.

This anthology is packed full of 14 stories by some really talented authors. I was familiar with some of the authors prior to reading this anthology, some of them have shown up here before, but there were a few that were totally new to me. One of the totally new to me authors wrote one of my two favorite stories in the anthology, so I’m going to go looking for her stuff to see what else she has for me to read.

So, 14 stories. All but one of them have sex. All of them have spanking. Many of them have age play or DD/lg dynamics. There is one LGBT+ story. If any of those sound like they may bother you, then you may want to skip this book. I have a bunch of other Christmas books I can recommend to you. But, I do really like this book.

I’m going to mention three stories in particular, but don’t think it’s because I think that the rest of them were terrible. I enjoyed all of them. They are like precious gems, all of them are beautiful, but there are always a couple of stones that just attract your eye more than others.

One is Delia Grace’s story, The Chalet. Her’s is the aforementioned age play story with no sex. A lot of age play stories do have sex in them, because that’s the kink of the people in the story. And please remember, their kink may not be your kink, but it’s OK, and it’s nothing to do with pedophilia or having daddy problems. OK, off my soapbox. As I was saying, you see a lot of sex in those stories, but Delia’s story shows another side of the age play dynamic. It’s all about the caring and nurturing and the needing to be cared for part of the dynamic, and I loved that.

The other two stories I’ll mention after the spoiler picture. That’s because I want to make sure that I don’t spoil anything, and my comments may have more to say about the direct content of the stories. So, go grab this. It’s on KU and it’s only $0.99, so it’s not like it’s going to break the bank and get your Kinkmas spirit on.

Alright. The other two stories I want to mention are Maren Smith’s The Doll-Maker and Marlie’s Christmas Keeper by Brandy Golden. Brandy is new to me.

I don’t know what it is about these stories that really attracted me to them, but they did, so there it is.

Maren’s story is really sweet. I mean, a fairy coming to life in a doll for a lonely man? That was nice. Of course, the poor guy thought he was crazy, but who wouldn’t if a doll you created started to move around and talk to you? But, of course, being Christmas, everything worked out really well.

Brandy’s story is a heavy story. She has all kinds of layers in it. It’s all about grief, healing, and renewal, which I found to be completely in keeping with Christmas. Marlie has been through hell but gets pulled out to the light. It was simply beautiful.
