Paige and Pepper have created a world full of Littles. They are friends, they all go to the same club, and they are all named after cupcake flavors, which makes sense, since there is a bakery involved. This book is Lemon Chiffon and the second book in the series.

So, Daisy is a florist, and she is a Little who frequents Blaze. She also has a major crush on one of the DMs, Tarson. He goes by Bear, and all of the Littles call him Teddy, as in Teddy Bear. He’s fair, firm, and a secret marshmallow. He also bakes cupcakes at a nearby bakery.

One day, after closing, Daisy is working on a rush wedding order that she got that evening and that has to go out the next day. As she’s working in the back, 4 guys come bursting in the back, trying to shake her down. She doesn’t have any money, so the threaten her and trash some of her work. She’s terrified, so she calls Bear to come help her as soon as they leave.

Teddy really does fit Bear well. He’s like a big Daddy grizzly bear. He’s all gooey in the middle, but he’s also fierce and protective. He won’t let anything hurt any Little, let alone HIS Baby girl. He is willing to go out of his way to help people he thinks are his friends, and he isn’t going to take any guff from anyone.

Daisy is just so super sweet. I really like her. Her favorite color is yellow, which I think is perfect for her, since she is just so sunny. She is a little shy, especially when it comes to people who try to intimidate her, but that’s pretty normal for just about anyone, so there’s that. But, she has so much love to give, and she will return all that love with joy.

Nikki Landis-Eternally Mine

If you have been around a while, you might have noticed that I like to read motorcycle club books. And I am basically in love with the Royal Bastards Motorcycle Club books. This is a shared world series, and several of my favorite authors are in the world. Nikki’s books are slightly different to the rest of the RBMC books, because she also brings in a supernatural aspect to the story. Her bikers have a reaper aspect, that lets them deal with the souls of bad guys. Let’s get into Eternally Mine.

So, we start with Ronin, Chris, and Laramie. Ronin and Chris are best friends, and Laramie is Chris’s little sister. Ronin and Chris are old enough to think about prospecting with an MC, and Chris has decided that they should join the Bloody Scorpions, because he fell in love with a woman who is affiliated with the club. Only, that turned out to be a mistake. It had fatal consequences.

Years later, Ronin, now known as Toad, is prospecting with the Tonopah chapter of the RBMC. He learned his lesson about the Scorpions. He’s out for vengeance. He is also watching over Laramie. He promised Chris, and besides, he loves her so much. But, he doesn’t want to get close to her. Toad thinks that she deserves more than his world. Of course, if it stayed that way, this book would be really short, right?

I like Laramie. She has a real spine of steel, I think. She knows what she wants and she has no problem telling people what she wants. When push comes to shove in the story, she stands up and tells everyone what she will be doing, and she refuses to take no for an answer. I think that she is going to be a wonderful addition to the ol’ ladies of the RBMC.

Unlike most of the guys, in this book, Toad really goes back and forth in between being called Ronin and being called Toad. While it’s not necessarily a problem, it did take me a second the first couple of times the name switched, but after that, it wasn’t an issue. I like him a lot. I think that he might be one of my fave Tonopah guys. Him and Azrael. Yeah, that’s about right.

Yeah, I know it’s been a while, and I’m sure that I can probably come up with some excuse, we all know it’s just that life is fucked up, things happen, and we all try our best. But, I’m here now, and I should be getting back to more frequent posts. Fingers crossed, at least.

OK, all that said, let’s get into Golden Angel’s new book, Dungeon Showdown. It’s the 3rd book in a series. I have to admit that I haven’t read the other two, even though I have them on my Kindle, but I didn’t feel lost or confused. I was able to figure out what was going on with no problems.

So we start with Cyana, a Domme, and Aiden,a Dom. They are good friends, and part of a larger friend group. The other people in their friend group are 2 couples. They are getting ready to renew their vows and the other couple is getting married. Cyana and Aiden are the only two single people in their group. They made a bet. Aiden said that the couples wouldn’t want to share their day and have a double ceremony. Cyana said that they would. The loser would submit to the winner.

Well, it turns out that yes, the couples did want to share their big day, and they are going to have a double ceremony, and Aiden now has to submit to Cyana, for one night. They do it at her house, no one else knows, and it’s all in private. It’s only going to be that night, and then they will go back to being friends again. Only, it doesn’t turn out that way. Aiden likes the night, more than he thought he would, and it turned him into a dickopotomous.

I really enjoyed this story. But the thing that I liked most about it is that Cyana and Aiden are my age. Cyana deals with issues that I have. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy reading about 22 year olds getting dicked down, but it is really nice to see someone that I can relate to so well. There is some true power in representation.

I like Cyana. I think that she has a very pragmatic and realistic view of what is going on. That doesn’t mean that she isn’t getting her feelings hurt or that some of what happens doesn’t hurt her deeply, but I think that she really does see what’s going on. I think that between her and Aiden, she has the best case for being the injured party. I got mad at Aiden on her behalf. I mean, I understand why Aiden was acting like he was, but he still made me really mad.

I mostly liked Aiden. But, that being said, there are a couple of times where he’s got some borderline toxic masculinity going on as well as a couple of places that felt almost misogynistic. I get that he was questioning himself during those times, and those times could really give his character a realistic feeling that might not show up otherwise, but they were still a little uncomfortable for me. There is one scene, the basketball game, where I got mad both for and at Aiden.

Anyway, I’m going to have to go back and read the other two books now so I can get the stories of the other couples.
