Kay Elle Parker-Walk For Me

This is the 4th book in Kay’s Club Avalon series. It’s also her very first Daddy book. And if anything, I think that Walk For Me shows that Kay should just write some more Daddy books, because this one was really good. So, let’s talk about Alicia and Atticus. This can be read as a standalone, there’s no real big overall storyline like in some series, but there is stuff discussed in this book that happens in previous books.

After the events in the last book, Alicia has been put into a residential facility because her mental health ain’t great, Connie has melted down and is putting herself back together, and Bodie has a high risk pregnancy that means she can’t give Lisha the care that she needs. All the Masters get together and find this facility that’s supposed to be top of the line, and Alicia will be getting all kinds of help. It’s only supposed be temporary, but events happen that made that temporary time a little longer. Now it’s been months, and no one has talked to or seen Alicia in quite some time. Atticus is done with it. He’s going to go in and talk to Alicia and tell her that she needs to at least talk to Connie.

When Atticus gets into the facility, he finds out that it isn’t anywhere near what his investigator said it was like. In fact, it is so far away from what they thought it was that it might as well be on a different planet. Alicia is laying in her own filth, has had her head shaved, can’t get to her wheelchair, and is starving. Worse, she’s accepted that she’s going to die soon, and has stopped fighting. Then in comes Atticus. He sees her, grabs her out of her bed, and puts her into her wheelchair. Then he gets mean, not to Alicia, but to everyone else. He calls the cops, the state, everyone he can call, because she isn’t the only patient there in shit shape.

Atticus takes her to his house, where he already has a space that he has remodeled for her and her needs. Then he calls everyone to let them know what has happened and starts taking care Alicia.

OK, I really didn’t like Alicia in the last book. But, that’s more about all the circumstances surrounding what was going on with Connie and how Connie’s and Lisha’s issues were feeding into each other. I know that Connie thinks that she’s Wonder Woman, but I don’t think that she had enough bandwidth to handle Lisha’s stuff then. She tried though. And she really bonded with Alicia, so that’s all good. As we learn more about Alicia in this book, I really liked her more. Frankly, I’m glad that she killed her parents, because they really, really needed to die. And for more than what we already knew. My youngest brother was a wheelchair user, and some of what we learn about Alicia’s past made me really angry, because I know how vulnerable people with disabilities can be.

I really do like her a lot more now. I do think that she really grew a lot during this book, and a lot of that is down to Atticus, but she learned her own strength in this and in her own value. I think that she might still need to have some growth, but she done good.

Atticus is such a Daddy. He wants to Daddy everyone, up to and including all the other Masters. He’s a merc in his real life, but frankly, even that could be seen as result of his Daddy-ness. I mean, seriously, he’s a Daddy. He really is a good man, even if he has to do someone bad things on occasion, and yup, he does that. I pretty much fell right in love with Atticus when we first met him.

This book really did break me at times. There are some places where it is really hard to read, and it did make me cry. But, the thing is, it put me back together too. Yeah, I cried, but then I would read how much Atticus loved Alicia and what he would say to her, and then I felt like I was all wrapped up in that love too.

OK, that’s it for today. Go check it out! Happy reading!

K. Webster-Dragon

K is back with her newest RBMC book. This is a MM book. The previous 2 are MF. You don’t strictly have to read the other two before reading Dragon, but I would definitely recommend it, because you are going to have a better understanding of what is going on in this book. OTOH, if you just want to read a hot MM story that is really intense, this is definitely the one to read.

So, Cove and his twin sister were rescued in the last book. Cove has decided that he’s now going to prospect with the RBMC. It’s the only place where he feels safe now, and his older sister is already associated with the MC. Cove is gay, and there are a lot of really nice looking guys around. He sort of fools around with a guy named Nick, but that’s coming to an end. Then, there’s Dragon. Cove is pretty sure that he hates Dragon and that Dragon hates him. But, there’s just something about Dragon that keeps pulling Cove’s attention. Cove is totally aware of when Dragon is around, because there is just that draw.

Dragon has been through some seriously fucked up shit in his life. It has broken him. He is totally a different person than he was when he was a teenager, in the before times. His family thinks he’s dead, Dragon thinks that it’s better that they do, but he keeps track of them anyway. Dragon is the go to man when the RBMC needs to have some seriously fucked up shit done. He doesn’t want to have a relationship, but then there is Cove, Baby Prospect, BP. He doesn’t want to want Cove, but he’s just fascinated by him.

When the two of them get pulled together, with this seriously massive magnetic pull, it really is intense. They are really good together, and their relationship is just really intense, just the two of them together. Dragon is one of those people who has a very intense focus, and when he focuses in on Cove, it’s obvious and wow.

The overall story is a continuation of what we’ve been seeing, but ramped up times 1000. Mostly that’s because Dragon is so involved in the beginnings. In fact, he really is the beginning of the story. Or at least when the RBMC comes into it. And that’s what broke him. He really does have a huge dose of PTSD, which, well, yeah, he would.

I actually do like Dragon. Yeah, he’s more than a little fucked up, and he has a really messed up POV on life because of what happened to him as a teenager, but he is also incredibly loyal to his brothers, both the RBMC and his actual blood. He doesn’t go to see his family, because he doesn’t want his darkness to touch them, but he does keep track of them and wants to make sure that they are safe. I think that if he ever heard that his family was in trouble, he would be there to fix the problem. He probably wouldn’t let them see him, because Dragon doesn’t think that he really deserves any love or anything good in his life. But I really do like him so much. There is just something about him.

Cove may not have had the same kind of fuckedupness that Dragon does, but he does have his own issues. And again, I don’t blame him, he went through some stuff too. A good therapist would make bank dealing with this chapter. I like Cove too. He does still have a little of that new guy shine on him, which does make him a little naive sometimes, but not a whole lot. OK, naive may not be the right word. It may be more like he’s still new and is still learning the ropes, so sometimes he trips up.

Dragon is definitely my favorite of K’s RBMC books. When I was done reading it, I just kind of sat in a sort of shook silence. It was very intense and I just had to catch my breath from it. I had a hard time starting a new book until the next day, because this one was just so much in my head.

OK, that’s all for this one. Go check it out! Happy reading!

They created this monster when they took me as a teen.
Abused me, tortured me, psychologically ruined me.
I was once innocent, fragile, and good.
Now I’m older and everything wicked.
The worst of the worst.
I’m filled with fiery rage and burn with the need to avenge the death of the boy I used to be.
Vicious and violent and vindictive.
A metaphorical dragon among men, thirsty to set fire to them all.
Only my mission of depraved justice will have to wait because Prez needs me for something else. If he wasn’t single-handedly responsible for dragging me from the sick nightmare my life had become, I’d tell him exactly where to shove his stupid idea of putting me on babysitting duty.
My charge is a prospect.
Not just any prospect, but the young, innocent Cove Gale who shouldn’t be within a hundred-mile radius of this vile club I call home.
I’m supposed to be keeping him safe.
But Cove’s a reckless brat with a mouth that begs for trouble.
Prez should know better than to give me a toy to play with.
I break things and I’ll break him too.
The prospect is just a boy.
And he’s just unleashed the dragon…
***This is a gay romance and the third book in the RBMC: Tulsa, OK series. It can be read as a standalone but may be better enjoyed after reading the first two, Koyn and Copper. Koyn and Copper are both MF stories while this one is MM.***

Nicolina Martin-Restraining Reeba

Nicolina is back with her West Coast Doms in Restraining Reeba. We met Reeba back in Sandra’s book, and now she has her own, and I’m totally here for it.

So, we have Reeba, who is working with her burlesque group and filming a documentary for Sandra. Reeba owes part of the club she’s working at, and her goal is to eventually own all of it. Right now, she’s in business with her ex, Fabian, and she doesn’t really like that part at all, but he’s a necessary evil, at least for right now.

Samuel, who is Sandra’s man, calls his buddy Ryder, trying to get him to go in and buy part of the club. Ryder isn’t here for it, but he does go and watch the show, and there is something that is totally awesome about that show. That would be the woman in charge, with electric blue hair, Reeba.

One day, when Reeba gets bitten by a spider, and ends up at the ER. When she goes into the club for rehearsal that night, it turns out that she has been having all kinds of accidents lately. If you didn’t look at them altogether, you might think that they are all coincidences, but when you look at them altogether, it shows that it’s a pattern. So, Samuel and Ryder decide that they will watch her. And well, by watch, I mean that Ryder kidnaps her.

Reeba is fucking fierce. She is independent, ambitious, talented, and driven. She sings, she dances, and she wants to own the club, and she’s going to make it happen. She’s also not worried about telling someone what she thinks. Frankly, I’m surprised that she didn’t outright gut Ryder at times. Or at least kick him in his balls. He deserved it sometimes, I think. I do like that she is so determined to do what she wants to do. But even with being as driven as she is, she is willing to listen and try to stay away from the trouble following her. It took a hot minute for it to settle in, but no one really wants to think that there are people trying to kill them. Reeba also fiercely loves, she has such a great heart. She’s just generally a good person.

When it comes to Nicolina’s heroes, I quite often dislike them at the start, and it takes me time to warm up to them, or there is a point where I really hate them. (I’m looking squarely at you, Christian.) There is only one of her heroes that I don’t like at all, but that isn’t Ryder. I like Ryder from the very beginning. There is something really broken and vulnerable about him. I mean, most of the guys in this series are broken in some way, but I think it’s closer to the surface in him than it is in other guys. I don’t know what it is. I kinda wanted to just take him home, and hug him, and love him, and pet him. I can understand where his choices are coming from, and they make sense coming from his background. I mean, they aren’t necessarily legal or anything, but they make sense.

I can’t wait for Felix’s book. I’m kinda mad at him right now.

OK, that’s all for this one. Go check it out! Happy reading!
