And we finally have come to the last book in the Punishment Pit series, or at least the last as it exists right now. Protecting It All brings the story to a close, and starts us on a new set of stories, hopefully.
So, we start out in California, the place where evil Jake (booooo hisssss) is currently living. Dylan, Derek’s younger brother, is the one sitting doing surveillance on him, and well, he don’t like it all that much. I don’t blame him. He’s constantly calling Lukus and Derek about things, because he wants to do something about him. Dylan keeps seeing women coming out of his warehouse that are in bad shape, very bad shape. Then there’s Hannah. Dylan really worries about her. Jake has been after her, and it’s obvious that she’s not interested, but Jake keeps following her.
Hannah is a sweet woman. She’s worked really hard to be an accountant, and she’s working 2 jobs right now. And then there’s Jake, who keeps pestering her. She keeps trying to tell him no, but he’s not listening. Finally, she goes out to dinner with him and he takes her to his house, to “discuss” a job offer for her. It’s not pretty. We’ve seen what he did to Brianna, so you can probably guess what he does to Hannah.
Finally, Lukus and Derek show up in California, and they can get the show on the road.
I have to admit there are times when I get very, very, very mad at Lukus and Derek in this book. I mean, yeah, very. I understand their point of view. I also understand Dylan’s POV. I also think that I agree with Dylan a lot more than I do with the other guys in this one, because I think they were in the wrong. It was a difficult decision, sure, and I agree that there may not have been other ways to go about the issue, but I still don’t agree with them and I’m still mad at them.
I like Hannah. I’m sorry for her. She has had to go through so much, and I want to just grab her and hug her. She really needs that hug. I think that Dylan may be able to give her those hugs though.
I’m looking forward to seeing where Livia is going to go with these books, and I’m hoping I don’t have to get mad at Derek again.
I wonder if Dylan and Hannah get into a slightly more kinky relationship?
OK, that’s all for this one. Go check it out! Happy reading!
