Sara is back with an Omegaverse-esque book. Marked is kind of an alien version of Omegaverse. They never say the words Alpha or Omega, but Kendra does have a heat, so that’s why I’m calling it Omegaverse-esque.
Anyway, here’s our story. Kendra is wandering through New York trying to find a job. Her rent is nearly due, her bills are overdue, and if she doesn’t find a job, and soon, she’s going be up shit creek and out on the street. So, she goes to a dive bar called the Salty Dog. She tries to get the bartender’s attention to see if she can get a job, but his isn’t the attention that she gets. She gets the attention of a huge dude named Silas. He decides that he’s going to pull her out of the bar over his shoulder. They get out to the alley, and she tries to attack him. Except, that doesn’t work out so well for her. Next thing she knows, he’s hauled her up to his apartment and whips her ass. Then fucks it.
The next thing Kendra knows, she wakes up at home, tucked into her very own bed, stark ass naked. She’d think that this was a dream, except she can feel every single thing that she and Silas did the night before. So, it wasn’t a dream. But weeks later, she seems to be living a nightmare of several varieties.
I like Kendra, a lot. Sheis a total badass. I mean, she tries to slice Silas’s neck the first time they meet. Then, he gives her the knife back, and she fights him again, and does pretty well too. That badassness will really serve her well in her life, I think. I think Silas is going to have his hands full when it comes to her.
I mostly like Silas. There are a couple of times when I am annoyed by him, but, other than that, he’s not bad. And he does redeem himself from when he annoyed me. So, that worked out well. I do think that he is overall going to be good for Kendra. I think that he will let her be the badass that she is and that she needs to be, but will also keep her under control as needed.
I really loved this book and what happened in it. I would really like to see more about this world. It doesn’t have to be more about Silas and Kendra, but at least more about their world.
I wouldn’t mind more Attitude in another story. He seemed to be nice enough.
