Raisa Greywood-Jennifer’s Christmas Daddy

Raisa has taken a break from writing her more intense and darker books to give us a sweet little story for Christmas, Jennifer’s Christmas Daddy. We have a vet, a three legged cat, a buttload of snow, another vet, and a silly golden retriever.

So, here’s our story. Jennifer is a veterinarian in a tiny town in Vermont. It’s Christmas Eve, there is a huge snowstorm, and she’s holding down the fort at the clinic so her partner can spend the holiday with his wife and kids.

Kaden is a veteran who has just come home from Afghanistan a couple of weeks before. He’s just broken up with his girlfriend and he’s driving down a country road, when all of a sudden, his car decides to stop working, start working again, and finally he hits a tree because he almost hits a deer. Jennifer rescues him and brings him back to the clinic.

And I can’t forget to mention the whole reason that this happened was because a pair of angels in training, Miz Lulu and Devin. And I have to say, Miz Lulu is a hoot and a half. I really wouldn’t want to cross her, because I’m pretty sure that she would just give me a look and I would cry. I would love to see more stories with Miz Lulu, her Remy, and Devin. I know that we don’t see much of them in this, but still.

This is an instalove story, but it really works, especially with the length of the story. I don’t think anything else would’ve worked, and the length of this is really perfect.  I love the way that Kaden and Jennifer interact with each other. He really keeps in mind who she is and gives her what she needs without taking anything away from her. Jennifer and Kaden were definitely the nice bit of light and sweet that I needed to have.

There is some humor in here, but for me, one of the funniest things in here was Jennifer’s comment when they were comparing scars. I just could picture her saying that so deadpan in my head.

Nothing in the spoilers today. Go check it out! Happy reading!
