Renee Rose & Lee Savino-Alpha’s Sun

Renee and Lee are back to those bad boy biking werewolves of Arizona. This time, we’re back with Titus and Sunny. We’ve seen them before. In fact, their kids are mated, so we’ve definitely seen them before.

Here’s how the story goes. Titus has been sent to New Mexico to find a friend of his who is a lone wolf. He’s hoping for more information about the labs where all the experimentation on the shifters has been going on. This friend of his lives way off grid and he might know about the goings on and if there are any labs in the area. So, he pulls into town and finds out that he’s in a little open air market kind of thing. And who should he see but Sunny. They had a thing for a couple of days a couple of years ago, but she left without telling him. Of course, she had her reasons. He’s kind of hung up on the fact that his ex was a bitch (literally, hahahahaha) and left him high and dry. So he doesn’t want a relationship, and Sunny senses that about him.

Sunny is a free spirit. She creates art, she teaches sunset yoga on top of a restaurant, she is just free and happy and shares of herself. She travels through the country selling her art, but she’s currently based in Taos. And it suits her well. She also sees auras, and she sees Titus’ inner wolf. Of course, she thinks it’s a spirit animal, and not, you know, a werewolf, but she still sees it. I personally think that she is psychic, so that works well. When she sees Titus, she’s more than happy to see him and maybe get some more hot lovin’ from him. Which, yeah, does happen. But he still has issues.

There are a lot of things I like about this book, but one of them is that we have an older couple. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading about hot 20-somethings getting their freak on, but as a 47 year old woman, it’s nice to see the heroine near my age. And not just a heroine near my age, but one that is having an epic and passionate love affair. That gave my heart a little happy.

Titus is a good man, but I think that he’s very stuck in the past. Yeah, his ex screwed him but good, but that was a long time ago and he needed to put his big werewolf panties on and deal with it. He also has a lot of issues with duty and what he thinks he should do vs what is the right thing to do.

I love Sunny. I think that she just has a wonderful sweet spirit that just flows out from the pages. I really would love to know her, because I’m pretty sure that she would bring a lot of love and light and laughter into anyone’s life, and I don’t know about you, but I could really use that, most days.

I had a lot of laughs in here, some anger, and more than a few tears, but it was a wonderful book and a series that have loved reading. I’m looking forward to seeing where these ladies are going to go next, because I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be awesome.

taos-1673204_1920

I love how Sunny and Titus managed to scar their adult children for life. Because of course it was funny as hell.

OK, that’s all for today. Go check out the entire series, you won’t regret it. Happy reading!

Winter Travers-Freak

Freak is the 7th book in Winter Travers’ Fallen Lords MC book. I’ve read all the books and reviewed at least a couple of them on here. I’ve fallen in love with the Girl Gang, and I think that Alice is my favorite one of the ladies. We have two new ladies to add to the Girl Gang in this book, Wendy and Carnie, although I could make the argument that they were already honorary members, after becoming Mayra’s friend in Boink. Anyway, this is Freak and Carnie’s story. I do have to say that the whole time I was reading this, I had Freak on a Leash by Korn going through my head. I have like 3 versions of it, so it was really mix and match in my head.

Carnie and her sister Wendy have hurried from their small town in UT to the Fallen Lords compound. They became friends with Mayra and Boink while they were in hiding. Bobby, Carnie’s scuzzball ex is stalking her, and she knows that Boink and his brothers will know what to do with him, because they did before.

Wrecker, the prez, puts Freak and Slayer on guard duty for the sisters. Freak gets Carnie, and Slayer gets Wendy. And they are a whole other story. In fact, I’m pretty sure that they are the whole next story.

Anyway, being a motorcycle club book, there is, of course, drunken antics, including an appearance from Capitan Karmen. And there is definite Alice craziness, which isn’t typical of a MC book, but is typical of a Fallen Lords book. And for all of Alice’s craziness, and let me assure you, she is quite delightfully crazy, she is a wonderful person who does what she can to make people feel better and more at ease. She adopts Carnie and Wendy and it’s like they are old, dear friends immediately. We can’t forget the appearance of strange and lovable parents as well.

I like Carnie. It took me a minute to get a true read on her. I’m not exactly sure why, but she just felt shielded for a little while. It could be that it’s because she feels guilty about what is going on because of Bobby. Ugh. Bobby. I think that she is very loving though. Her love language is definitely feeding people and it’s something that she loves to do.

Freak is pretty much an open book. He was very easy to get a read on. I think that he was very open to falling in love, and Carnie showing up the way that she did must’ve seemed like a sign. I think that he got into his head a little bit though. Kind of made him a little jerky there for a second.

I really like these books because while there is tension and drama, there is also a hefty helping of sheer humor and friendship. All the ladies are close friends, and they accept each other as they are. That’s kind of hard to beat, you know? As long as Winter keeps writing these books, I’ll keep reading them.

motorcycle-1953342_1920

I love the way that Carnie’s mom talks to the Big Bad. It was just hilarious.

Carnie smacking Wrecker’s hand was just sooo funny.

OK, that’s all for this one. Go check it out! Happy reading!

HOSTED BY:

Cari Silverwood-Condemned

Cari is back with a hot, kinky scifi story. This one is a RH, and we are back with the mauleons, which means more of Cari’s addiction to HUGE cocks. Oh, and by the way, if you read the acknowledgments, don’t believe her. She’s not all sweet and innocent. She can only be egged on if she has the idea to begin with. Anyway, back to Condemned and 4 huge cocks.

Avalon is a huleon. She’s a human/mauleon hybrid. And she’s being blackmailed by her uncle to go steal from the mauleons. Not only is he blackmailing her to steal, but he’s getting her to steal a royal artifact from the mauleons, and one which will probably keep the war going for right now. Everything seems to be going reasonably well, until her teammates throw a flare right at the roof that she is hiding on. It catches the roof on fire and catches the attention of the 4 mauleons who are right under the roof that she’s hiding on. And whoops, that’s not a very good thing to have happen. The next thing that Ava knows is that she’s sentenced to death, and not a very nice one. She’s to be impaled on a spear, paraded through town, and then shot in the head.

Takk, Timin, Zo, and Kondio are a squad that have been together for a long time during this war. They have been through a lot together, and they are good friends as well as teammates. Takk is their leader, and he has led them well. Now, he’s gotten them to place where they have the honor of killing this thief. Only, there’s just something about her. Something that won’t let them participate in her death. So, they decide they are going to steal the thief.

Of course, it’s never as easy as it sounds, because that wouldn’t be so fun, would it? We get to watch while Avalon plots and schemes, trying to figure out how to get away. She almost does a time or two. And I’m sure we can all guess exactly how well that went over for her, can’t we?

I like Avalon. I also feel sorry for her. She’s been abandoned by everyone who should’ve ever taken care of her. And because she’s a hybrid, she gets shit on all sides. Too mauleon for the humans, too human for the mauleons, and just ignored and mistreated by everyone around. I don’t think anyone has ever just taken care of her or try to help her. Instead, she gets jerkoffs like her uncle who force her and blackmail her into doing things. Or people who beat her so that she will become the best thief possible. She does have Nibbles, but she hasn’t had him long. And Nibbles is so very, very, very cute.

I think of Takk, Zo, Kondio, and Timin, I like Zo and Kondio the most. Of course, that may be because they warm up to Avalon first. But Zo really takes care of her and worries about her. Of course, he spanks her too, but hey, that’s all part of the taking care of her too, so it works out well. Timin took a while to warm up, but I wonder how much of that is just trying to get through all the bullshit from the war and the residuals from his injury. I think that one of my favorite non-sex scenes is when Avalon is taking care of Timin. He doesn’t really want her to, but she’s there just caring for him.

Takk took me a minute to figure out how I felt about him. I could tell that he was an honorable male and one who was just trying to do the best for his friends, but I think that he sometimes saw things in a much more black and white way than it needed to be seen. I dunno, maybe it’s just me.

Watch for Easter Eggs that Cari has planted, because she does that.

horse-3395135_1920

I love ARBO. And even better, I love the full revelation we get about him, lol.

I thought it was funny that the priest were basically begging Takk to take Avalon away.

OK, that’s all I have to say about this one. Go check it out! Happy reading!

Super Daddy by Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamison

I wasn’t the damsel in distress type. And yet here I was, wrapped up in a shit-show of epic proportions, with a gang of bad guys after me and a leak somewhere in the ranks of the police department charged with keeping me safe. The next thing I know, I’m holed up in a talking house with Brian, the butter-voiced superhero who ‘rescued’ me against my will. He has a hard-as-steel body and even harder hands, but there’s something about him I just can’t resist. I’ve never needed anyone, and I

don’t want to start now, but when he tells me to call him Daddy, I almost believe it when he says he can keep me safe… Almost…

Daddy’s Sassy Little Superhero by Adaline Raine

Now, despite all his best efforts, everyone wanted his autograph and the media wouldn’t leave him alone. He hated it… right up until he met Britney, a late-night radio personality and Little as lonely as he was. No, Ommin never meant to be a super hero. But for one very special Little, he wasn’t just Ommin the Sharkman. He was… Daddy Shark!

Daddy’s Justice by R.J. Gray
When Loki and his dark forces ascend on Midgard, my team is dispatched. The mission: Track down the valkyrie demi-god, Morrigan, and protect her, no matter the cost. The problem: Morrigan has no idea what she is, she doesn’t cooperate, and I, the God of Justice, am not accustomed to disobedience. Also, falling in love wasn’t part of the assignment. Loki is unstoppable; he’ll kill her if he can, but from the moment she calls me Daddy, everything changes. Now, to get to her, he’ll have to go through me… Fat chance.

Ultragirl Powers Up by Emily Tilton

Can the extremely dominant Nightprince teach the newly minted Ultragirl to keep her powers in check with his considerable skills as a loving daddy? Earth’s newest superhero is about to find out that she’s really a naughty little at heart, and badly in need of a sound spanking.

Lee Savino & Stasia Black-Innocence, Awakening, and Queen of the Underworld

Innocence, Awakening, and Queen of the Underworld are a 3 book serial that is, among other things, a modern twist on the Hades and Persephone story. I thought about reading them as Lee and Stasia wrote them, but I decided that it would be much safer on my poor heart if I waited for Queen to come out and read them all at once, so that’s what I did. Since they are a serial, it will affect how I review them here. Mostly, I’ll give some info about the first book, and then highly gloss over the rest of the books. You know how I do.

So, a brief brushup on the Hades/Persephone thing. Demeter, the Greek goddess of the harvest has a daughter known as both Kora and Persephone. Hades, God of the Underworld wants a bride, and he spots Persephone. He manages to take her, gets her to eat 6 pomegranate seeds, and says he’s going to keep her. Demeter goes on strike and there are massive famines, droughts, all that. Zeus steps in and the agreement is struck that Persephone will reign in the Underworld for 6 months, and be above ground for 6 months. Zeus, by the way? Persephone’s daddy and uncle. Which also makes her husband Hades, her uncle. Those Greek gods, all kinds of incestuous.

Here’s how our story goes here. Cora is a sweet 19 year old girl who has run away from her tyrant of a mother, Demi. Her mother kept her completely isolated on a farm in the middle of nowhere. She would lock Cora in the cellar, yell at her, mistreat her, and be an all-around nasty bitch.  Cora wants nothing more than to get as far away from her mother as possible, and runs away to New Olympus.

Cora, who pretty much has no clue how the world works, because she’s been isolated on a farm all her life, ends up being a live-in nanny. After one particularly bad day, she heads out to a club with some friends. But, she also ends up drugged and dragged out of the club. She manages to get away from the asshole who has her and runs through a door, where she meets Marcus.

Marcus is known as the Lord of the Underworld. He’s a very powerful man in New Olympus. He is taken with the beautiful young woman who is drugged and soaking wet from the rain and takes her home. He woos her, cherishes her, and whisks her off her feet.

But of course we wouldn’t have 3 books if it was as easy as all that, would it? There is a whole lot that happens in these books. Marcus isn’t what he seems. Cora isn’t what she seems. Secrets swirl around her, and they aren’t ones that she is holding. In fact, she is like Jon Snow, and starts out knowing nothing. That slowly but surely changes, and things that Cora never expected or even imagined could happen actually happen.

I hate Marcus sometimes. I mean, downright can’t freaking stand the man. Of course, as we learn more about him, we find out why he has made the choices that he has, not that I’m excusing him in any way, shape, or form. He’s a grownup, he’s reasonably intelligent, he could’ve chosen other options, but he didn’t. Other times, my heart truly aches for him. He does put himself into some nearly impossible situations, and I don’t know why he chooses to do that. I think he’s operating under faulty logic.

I like Cora, most of the time. I think that she needed to grow up a little faster than she did. She really did hide her head in the sand almost willfully sometimes. But, when she decided to make her stand, she really made her stand. You’ll see what I mean. I think that she will end up as a serious force to be reckoned with, and that she’s going to make people see her. If they try to ignore her, I’m pretty sure that she’s going to hurt them, big time.

We have some great secondary characters. Armand, Anna, Olive, Andrea Doria, and definitely Sharo. All of these people are related to other mythological figures, and they all play fairly heavily into the story. Then we have Waters and Sturm, who are very interesting characters.

Along with the main Hades and Persephone, we get a glimpse at Orpheus and Eurydice, and Ares and Venus. I love how those got wound into everything else and how Lee and Stasia made it all fit together.

For more information about how the various characters relate back to mythological characters, check out the end of book 3. Lee left a nice message for everyone.

There are going to be more books in this world, featuring more myths. I’m really looking forward to reading them.

sculpture-1111260_1920

Ugh. Demi. What a bitch. I mean, burn in hell woman. A lot. In a big firey pit.

Poor Sharo. His story was just so sad.

AJ needed serious, serious, serious punishment.

OK, that’s all from me. Go check out these books. Happy reading!

Ana B. Starr-Omega of Sathion

Today, we get two of my favorite things. It’s a new Omegaverse story and I get to introduce you to a brand new author! We know how I love those things, right? Ana has written Omega of Sathion, which isn’t just O-verse, it’s also scifi, and stars humans who have no clue who they are, space pirates, and assorted other aliens.

So, Faye is a young woman who is on the verge of death. She is fighting off another bout of cancer. She’s already lost her legs to it, but that wasn’t enough, now she’s about to lose her life. But her doctor, who’s been hooking up with her mother, tells her mom that he has a way that she can keep living. It turns out that he is an alien, called a Pleiadian. They have been coming to Earth for a while to try to help humans along. Anyway, he can cure her cancer and give her legs back. The only problem is that she will officially be dead, so she’s going to have to go to a colony on a planet called Sathion. Many humans are already there, and they are trying to give it a good go. She agrees, because life on another planet is better than death from cancer, and it’s kind of exciting anyway.

Two long years later, after her legs have grown back, it’s time for her to go out to space and begin her journey to Sathion. She’s learned all she needs to know about the planet, gotten a universal translator, and is totally raring to go. But, sadly, that’s not where this journey is about to end up.

You see, space pirates capture her ship, take her and her friend, tell them they are Omegas, whatever the hell that is, and that they are going to be the crew’s toys.

Faye is a very determined young woman. She has had to be. I mean, think about what she’s gone through. She has a spine of steel, and she isn’t about to bend at all. She’s going to do what she needs to do to do what she wants. She wants to get to Sathion. She knows that’s where her life is going to be, because that’s where it has to be. So, she’s going to manage to get there, somehow.

I really do like Faye a lot. I like that stubbornness. I don’t know if it’s part of her natural personality or if it’s a learned behavior from everything that she’s had to go through in her life. Because either way would work for me, and really either way would work for Faye, I think. I think she totally deserves her happiness and someone to love and cherish her.

You’ll notice, I’m sure, that I didn’t mention anything about Alphas or males or anything, other than when I said something about space pirates. There are reasons for that. Am I going to tell you those reasons? Nope. I’m mean that way. LOLOLOL.

Depositphotos_19099781_xl-2015

I don’t trust the Pleiadians. I think there is something off about them. I’m going to be eagerly awaiting the series to see what more comes out about them.

OK, that’s all I have to say about this one. Hit up the Zon and check it out! Happy reading!

Alta Hensley-Caged

Alta wasn’t happy with just one surprise release in the past few days. She had to come out with two! Caged is a fun, filthy, dark, little Mafia tale, involving, guess what? That’s right, cages!

We start out at a funeral with Nayla. One of her co-workers has been killed in the line of duty of taking out one of the big Mafia families. And of course, one of those two families decides to interrupt the funeral with a little gunplay, because what funeral doesn’t need a whole lot of people getting shot. Nayla is lucky enough to survive it.

She’s a prosecutor who is after one of those two families. She has pix of the head of the family, Eddie, on her apartment’s wall because it is supposed to help her focus on her job. She stares at him a whooooole lot. I mean, like a lot a lot. Then, one day, she meets the real thing. In her apartment. Who has come to take her away. Yeah.

Meanwhile, Eddie has decided that he’s going to take Nayla. He has his reasons to do it, and he kinda doesn’t care what she has to say about it. He’s going to do what he wants.

There is a lot of fun and filthy filthy filth in this. And I love it, a lot. A lot a lot. There’s just something about the way that Eddie treats Nayla that is so twisted and kinky and hot like burning.

Overall, I really like Eddie. You wouldn’t know that he was the head of a Mafia family unless you knew that he was the head of a Mafia family. He seems like such a good man. OK, I’m not saying you can’t be a good man and a crime lord, but you get what I mean, right? Anyway, he is definitely honorable, and has very definite ideas.

I liked Nayla too. With that said, I thought that there were times that she was a little naive. I dunno, naive might not quite be the word, but I think that’s the closest that I can come to it. She’s willing to believe the good in people who might not have that good. I think that she might also have a little bit of a black and white view on life.

lost-places-1549096_1920

I have to say, I love Eddie’s house. And his choice in dinner parties.

OK, that’s all I have to say about this one. You’re going to have to go check it out! Happy reading!
