Maddie Taylor-Tough Love 3: Disappointing Her Daddies

Today we have the last of Maddie’s Tough Love series, Disappointing Her Daddies. If, when you are reading this story, you look at it and think, hmmmmm, this seems familiar, you would be right. A shorter version of this appeared in the anthology, Daddy’s Demands. The anthology is no longer available and the rights have reverted back to the authors, so we’re starting to see some of the stories coming out as standalones.

Like with the first book in the series, I don’t necessarily think that Tough Love is quite the right word for this particular book, but I don’t think it’s necessarily wrong either. I’ll leave it up to you for your interpretation of it. I think it’s one of those subjective things.

At nearly 20, Erica is looking for a job. She needs one for the money, and also as part of her internship. Her professor suggested D&G Construction, and called them to smooth her way along. As she’s standing outside psyching herself up to go in and fill in the application and get an interview, two steamy hot guys, one shirtless, walk up. Turns out that they are the D&G of the company, Daniel and Grayson. After they meet her, they both agree with each other that she would be dangerous to hire. So, of course, their office manager hires her.

Fast forward 5 years, and Erica is about to graduate with her MBA. She’s still working as the assistant to the office manager, and crushing desperately on Daniel and Grayson. Then, one night, she discovers that the guys like to play with the same woman at the same time, and they like to be called Daddy. How does she find this out? Well, she’s sitting under the desk trying to plug in a cord that she fell over, when the guys walk out the woman. After an epic meltdown, there’s some discussion about what’s going on, but first, Erica’s bitchy mom has to show up.

This is really a pretty mellow story. There is a little drama, especially when it comes to Erica’s mom. I’m not kidding about her being bitchy. There are a couple of other bits of drama that show up in the story, but really, overall, it’s a sweet read, filled with love, friendship, family, and fucking. I almost changed love for fondness, just for the pattern of it, but fondness isn’t a big enough word for the emotion shared between Erica, Daniel, and Grayson.

I like the guys. I think that they are very dedicated to their job and building their company. I also think that they are very dedicated to Erica and taking care of her. We don’t really learn much about them, since it’s all Erica’s POV, but that works for the story.

Erica is definitely a little girl inside of a competent woman. She is definitely both people, not necessarily at the same time, and D&G are really good at nurturing both sides of her. There are a couple of times where I think that she is both at the same time, but she might actually switch back and forth really quickly. Again, this is a point I’m going to let you figure out on your own. Anyway, her Daddy and her Papa are definitely good for her, in all the ways.

I will say that this one felt kind of like home to me. I grew up in Indianapolis, and my family went up to Chicago a couple of times a year for the museums and the aquarium. We would also go wading the lake, when we had a chance. I’d also like to think that everyone stopped at the great pizza place in Merrillville on their way. Of course, it may only be great in my memory, and since it’s been around 30 years since I’ve been there, it probably isn’t there anymore. But I felt like I really knew Erica, Daniel, and Grayson, since they were from my old stomping grounds.

Oh, Mona, no Mona. I was so upset about what happened with Mona.

And the dragon lady definitely got what she deserved!

That’s all for this one. Go check out all the Tough Love books! Happy reading!

Michael Fleishman is excited to meet his favorite mystery writer, Russell Withingham, at Lacetown’s Literary Fest. He is not expecting to cross paths with sexy hairdresser Jasper “Jazz” Dilworth—or become embroiled in a real-life mystery. As Lacetown’s only mortician and the county coroner, Michael is called to his first murder scene and is shocked to recognize the victim—Russell’s young lover.
Jazz only wanted to confront his ex, Russell, over his cheating. Instead, he meets the adorably awkward Michael and becomes a murder suspect. Soon Jazz is teaming up with Michael to clear his name. Along the way, they are helped and hindered by Michael’s sassy assistant, Kitty, the grumpy Sheriff Musgrave, Russell’s creepy PR rep, Norbert, and Michael’s lothario grandfather, who likes his manhattans strong and his women saucy. And of course, Mr. Pickles Furryton the Third….

Deanna Wadsworth might be a bestselling erotica author, but she leads a pretty vanilla life in Ohio with her wonderful husband and a couple adorable cocker spaniels. She has been spinning tales and penning stories since childhood, and her first erotic novella was published in 2010. She has served multiple board positions at her local RWA chapter and is the current President 2017 for Rainbow Romance Writers of America. In between all that fun, Deanna cherishes the quiet times when she can let her wildly active imagination have the full run of her mind. Her fascination with people and the interworkings of their relationships have always inspired her to write romance with spice and love without boundaries.

She’s fallen for both her dominant bosses.
Luckily, these delicious daddies won’t make her choose.

Erica has been working for D&G Construction for five years. Coincidentally, that’s how long she’s been hopelessly in love with Daniel and Grayson, the two gorgeous men who sign her paychecks. While neither sees her as anything more than the naive college girl they first hired, Erica wouldn’t mind being shared by these dominant daddies, and she boldly tells them so.

When Erica makes a costly mistake on an important contract, she must confess and face the consequences. Most employees would be fired on the spot, but Dan and Gray are more inclined to take their naughty new submissive over their knees for a bare-bottom lesson she won’t soon forget. Fortunately, their unconditional love for her, combined with an eleventh-hour solution to save the company, means her daddies can make it all better in much more pleasurable ways.

Publisher’s note: Tough Love 3: Disappointing Her Daddies is a steamy, romantic ménage with alpha heroes, high heat, and BDSM themes (no age play). About Maddie

A USA Today and #1 international bestselling author, Maddie is a lifelong reader who became a romance junkie as a teen with her first romance novel, The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss. From then on, she was hooked, and gobbled up everything she could get her hands on, whether contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi. If there was romance to be found between a strong alpha male, and a sassy, adventurous and ofttimes defiant yet loving woman, Maddie was all over it. As an author, she stays true to those themes writing steamy erotic romance, with a side of kink, and adding elements of intrigue, danger and suspense to her plots.

Maddie started writing as a hobby. Her stories stayed private while she raised a family and worked full time as a registered nurse. It wasn’t until 2012 that she decided to take the plunge and submit her first book for publication: Captain My Captain. She went on to publish eleven novels the first year.

HOSTED BY:

Leann Ryans-Winning His Omega

Hey guys, guess what! I have another Omegaverse book on the blog today. That like never happens, right? I mean, me and Omegaverse? Who’d’a thunk it? Alright, all of you stop laughing now. Leann has come out with her third book in the Legion Omegas series, Winning His Omega.

Winning is Red and Rainor’s story. You might remember Rainor from the first book, and Red is one of the kidnapped Omegas from the last book. Instead of going home to an uncle who sold her, she went to the mines. Red’s a mechanic, even if she is an Omega, and mines always need to have mechanics to keep them working. Besides, at the mine, she will have a veritable buffet of smoking hot Alphas walking back and forth. At least, she would have a steaming hot buffet of Alphas if Rainor wasn’t bound and determined to scare off every single male at the mind. But, he doesn’t appear to want her either. He just doesn’t want anyone else ot have her.

Rainor has had a thing for Red since he first saw her. But she flirts with everyone and he doesn’t want to settle down, so he’s just going to make sure that no one else can have her. Because he really does want her, but they just seem to get on each other’s nerves. But now, they are about to get stuck on a ship together because she has to do some shopping for tools that she needs for her job. Rainor isn’t sure that they’ll survive it, but he guesses they can try.

There’s a lot that goes on in this story, and it’s all good. I really like Red. She is really not Omega-ish. Not that any of the Omegas we’ve run across so far are all that submissive or anything, but she is very not submissive. She holds her own when it comes to hanging with the Alphas and is pretty much not scared of any of them at the mine. She also has no problem with keeping things in line with her machines, and telling the bosses off about it. I really like how she feels to me, as a character. I wouldn’t call her carefree or anything, but I would say that she is very sure of herself and deservedly so. I just like the way that she feels in my head.

Rainor is a bit of an idiot at times. I like him. I think that he’s a good man overall. Just a bit of an idiot some times. I’ll forgive him for that though. Most people are idiots at some point in time or another. He’s also a very likable guy. He comes off as friendly, charming, and just nice. He feels sort of comforting and competent to me, which is an odd mix, but one that I like.

I’m really hoping that Leann is going to give us more in this series, because I really am enjoying it. I think that each book gets a little better because she’s established the world better, and as she gets us more familiar with the world, we can enjoy things more.

tunnel-957963_1920

I love that Red was able to do what she could against the pirates and that she was able to do what she could under the circumstances. She’s amazing.

OK, that’s all for this one. Go check it out! Happy reading!

Jane Henry-Wanted

Jane has taken us to Boston, to abandoned islands, to Manhattan, and now to Wyoming with a sexy cowboy named Jace who has no mercy in Wanted.

Freya, daughter of rich parents who has always been expected to be perfect, has just gotten stood up at the altar by a groom who was fucking one of her bridesmaids. Her prick of a father, instead of getting her out of there, makes sure that everyone knows that the party is still on, which leaves the congregation cheering. Her mother, instead of getting her out of there, tels her to go to the bathroom to “collect herself” before they go to the hall. You see, Rhett women do not cry and they do not do anything that may cause humiliation to the family, like, I dunno, being upset because her douchey fiance stood her up at the altar.  Instead, Freya calmly walks out, steals a car, and starts driving until she runs out of gas. She ends up at a small bar out in the middle of BFE, literally tearing her dress apart. And of course, that’s when Freya’s real troubles start. She sees something that she shouldnta oughta seen.

Jace Mercy is also called the Vigilante by the people of his small area. The LEOs are in the pockets of the bad guys, so nothing gets investigated or stopped. He’s taken it upon himself to stop the bad guys, but whatever means necessary. He’s stepped up even more since his fiancee was killed. He’s very quiet, and he keeps himself to himself. He owns a ranch, and is very isolated. He doesn’t own a TV, computer, or cellphone. He’s in town that night, and when Freya ends up running, she runs right towards him, right before she knocks herself the fuck out by running into a tree, so he takes her home with him.

Jace is pretty much the textbook definition of anti-hero if you ask me. He is a good man who does bad things for the right reasons. He doesn’t think of himself as a hero. He doesn’t want to be thought of as a hero. He’s just the man who is doing what needs to be done because it needs to be done. No one else is going to do it, so he’s going to make sure it gets done. I think that he has a very strict moral code, and he’s going to adhere to that code, no matter what.

Freya, poor Freya. It’s hard to realize that your life isn’t everything that you thought. I mean, she basically had everything destroyed in just one split second. She knew that her parents never really cared for her, and she was just there as a prop, but to find out that all her friends weren’t really her friends, and that what she thought of as a perfect life just wasn’t, had to have been really hard for her. Jace is right when he tells her that she has everything she wants but nothing she needs. I like watching her go through her struggles and journey to find out who she is, and getting strength from her search.

On a strange note, it was all rainy and windy while I was reading this book, and there is a blizzard in the first part of the book, so every time I walked past a window, I expected a huge blizzard outside my window.

winter-1828779_1920

The whip? OMG, the whip!

And Freya and the knife? Good on her!

OK, you know the drill! Happy reading!

L.V. Lane-Taking Control

I think that at this point I could comfortably be called an Omegaverse connoisseur. I’ve read a good chunk of what’s available on Amazon, in whatever gender configurations I can. I haven’t read a lot of fanfic yet, for reasons. It’s on my list of things to do, but if you saw my list, you might faint away dead. So, what does this have to do with anything? Well, today is a new MF Omegaverse, by a brand new author. L.V. Lane has decided to jump right in their very first published book, ever, Taking Control.

I’m going to tell you right now, I have much to say about this one, so let’s just jump right in.

Copper’s Virus has given a chunk of humanity the A/B/O dynamics, but in this universe, it’s more than just those three. There are other dynamics as well, like Mus, but we don’t see any of those, I really hope that we do in further books, I think it would be really interesting to explore the expanded dynamics. Anyway, there are some people who ended up with dynamics thanks to this created virus, and then there are the Uncorrupted. They pride themselves on being uninfected by the virus. And the two groups of humanity are at war with each other, and it’s not a pretty war. Of course, no war is, but I get the feeling that for the Uncorrupted, it’s almost more like a holy war than anything else.

In the middle of this war, we have Eloise, who is an Omega Singular, and Logan, who is going to be her Alpha controller. Singulars have additional powers on top of having their dynamics. In Eloise’s case, she can read the emotions of people if she touches them or drops her mental shields around them. If she has something of someone’s she can feel their emotions and find them. She’s been called in on a mission because an important diplomat and his family have gone missing on a war-torn planet and he has some very important and sensitive information. That means that they have to go rescue him. So, Eloise was called in, and since she needs to have a controller, enter Logan.

Logan is a war hero, and he’s been offered the chance to be a controller for a Singular. In order to do that, he had to fight a whole bunch of other Alphas. It’s basically a training exercise with benefits, or so his CO tells him. And since the person who he fought for is a female Omega, guess what those benefits are?

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I am really grooving on the whole dynamics from a virus thing instead of an inborn kind of thing. It’s one I haven’t seen before, but one I really like. I also really enjoyed the fact that the Omegas get deployed and go into war. Of course, that’s also kind of a double-edged sword. They have to have controllers who control them, and for control, read fuck and discipline, and they don’t get to choose those controllers. The Omegas don’t have a lot of rights in the world, and they are getting fewer and fewer.

I liked Eloise and how conflicted she was. Everything seemed to weigh very heavily on her, and she wasn’t sure what she was going to do from one moment to the next. I like Logan too. I think he’s a pretty good guy. We do get some peeks into his head, but mostly we only see Eloise’s head. Each chapter is headed by quotes from a doctor who is an expert in Copper’s so that was really fascinating to read.

Now, having said that, there were a couple of things that I would’ve liked to have more of. For example, I would really like to have more information about investing. We learn more about Singulars as the book goes on, but we never really find as much about investing. I would like to find out more about it. I’m pretty sure that I can get a basic idea, but I would’ve liked to have more.

I’m really looking forward to the next one and to seeing what LV Lane is going to do with the world. I don’t think I really have any spoilers today, but I have a picture for you.
