Livia Grant-Black Light: Rescued

Livia Grant has brought us back to D.C.’s hottest and most exclusive BDSM club, Black Light. Black Light is located under the club Runway, run by Jaxson, Chase, and Emma, from Livia’s Infamous Love, great book, BTW.

The Blacklight series is written by a variety of authors, Jennifer Bene and Measha Stone both have full books in the series. Then there is Black Light: Valentine Roulette, which is just 99 cents for the next few days, so grab it now. Roulette features stories by 8 authors. It’s a great anthology, so grab it now.

In Roulette, Livia wrote a story called Revealed. In that story, we meet super spook Ryder and superstar Khloe. They have an incredibly intense 3 hours, and then Ryder tells Khloe it was all a game. I have to say, of all the scenes in Roulette, Khloe and Ryder’s first scene is in my top 3. It is INTENSE and very hot.

In Rescued, we get back to Khloe and Ryder. (I don’t have a link yet, King Zon hasn’t put it live, as soon as I do, I’ll post it on my FB page)

Ryder is back undercover with the Russian Bratva. He has been through hell, watched and done things that are terrible, and knows so many secrets. Then, something happens that he can’t ignore, and he burns himself trying to fix what happened.

Khloe has made a great movie, and now it’s opening. She has to go to three different premieres for it. She’s already stressed out enough over it, but then she finds out that she has a stalker and her life starts to implode.

They are both miserable without the other.

When Khloe’s stalker gets into a place where he shouldn’t have been able to get to, for the second time, she completely melts down. She calls the one person who can help her feel safe, her ex, Chase. Chase talks to her, and Chase, Jaxson, and Emma all go out to LA to help her out. But before that happens, Jaxson sees Ryder in Black Light and tells him that Khloe is being threatened and needs him. Ryder, being a stubborn man, tries to tell himself that he shouldn’t be involved, but next thing we know, he’s whisking Khloe away from a red carpet event on a motorcycle.

Ryder is going protect her because no one gets to hurt Khloe except him. He’s also going to get to the bottom of the stalker and make sure that the stalker ends up in jail, no matter what.

This is where we going to split up unless you want spoilers and my opinions. This is a great book and a good continuation to Revealed. I’m pretty sure that Ryder and Khloe have some more adventures coming up, and I’m looking forward to seeing them. The scenes they have in this book, especially when they are in the club, are steamy hot. I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait for Livia to write more. There is sex, hot sex, and even hotter sex. There is kinky, kinky kink, lovely kinky kink. If that bothers you, pass this one by. If not, definitely grab it and love it.

So, I told Livia that I was almost mad at her. I wasn’t sure how she was going to wrap up the book, but I didn’t have to get mad at her. It was a close thing though. It made the ending even more satisfying, if you ask me.

The stalker storyline was brilliant. I questioned who the stalker a few times. I mean, you figure the obvious one is the stalker, but maybe that’s too obvious, so it’s someone else, but no, it has to be the obvious person. I loved that. I was somewhat surprised that the stalker was who it was. I may have to go back and reread it soon so that I can see if there were any clues in the story that I missed. Although, I generally don’t work too hard to figure things out while I’m reading because I find it takes me out of the story.

I do like how well Khloe’s eating habits are handled. Eating disorders are very tricky, and Livia handled it very well, without glamorizing it.

OK, I think that’s all I have to say on Rescued, other than that you should definitely check it out, especially if you read Roulette. Meanwhile, happy reading!
